6-day, 5-night private tour that takes you on an epic one-way journey across the heart of Morocco. Starting from the modern metropolis of Casablanca, this itinerary guides you through the historic imperial cities of Rabat, Meknes, and Fes, where a full day is dedicated to its exploration. You’ll then traverse the Atlas Mountains, experience a magical night in the Sahara Desert, and conclude in the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakesh. Tour Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca Your Moroccan adventure begins as we pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca, the economic heart and largest city of Morocco. We will first visit the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, majestically situated on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After free time for lunch, we will explore more of the city, including the beautiful Casablanca Cornish, before you check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Casablanca → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes After breakfast, we depart from Casablanca to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this well-preserved city features beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and grand archways. After strolling through the ruins, we drive 30 km to the Ismaili capital of Meknes, another of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, we will visit the monumental Bab Al-Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.
Day 3: Guided Sightseeing Tour of Fes Today is entirely dedicated to exploring the highlights of Fes with an expert local guide. As the cultural and religious heart of Morocco, Fes is one of its most fascinating imperial cities. We begin by visiting the Royal Palace gate, then dive into the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Entering through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), you will navigate a labyrinth of alleyways to visit The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the famous Tanneries, and finally, the Quaraouine Mosque and University—the oldest university in the world. Afterwards, we visit the Jewish quarter, “the Mellah,” and drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of the entire city.
Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Cedars Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara After breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, a city renowned for its alpine-style architecture and cool temperatures, earning it the nickname “the Switzerland of Morocco.” We continue to the nearby cedars forest, home to Barbary macaques. After a lunch break in Midelt, we proceed towards the Sahara, crossing the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and journeying along the scenic Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views. In the afternoon, we reach the Merzouga desert, where you will switch to camels for a trek across the sandy dunes. After a stop atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset, you will continue to a luxury desert camp. Here, you can enjoy Berber drums music while dancing around a campfire under a vast, open sky of stars before dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 5: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert is a must. After breakfast, you will return by camel to Merzouga to meet your driver. We then leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a major trading center with a large, lively souk. After a stroll through the market, we continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop of fossilized marble. Our journey then takes us through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. This high, red cliff-sided canyon is an ideal place for rock climbers and nature lovers alike. After lunch, we continue to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the famous “monkey fingers” rock formation and to admire the view of the valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley → Roses Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakesh On our final day, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, where a vibrant Rose Festival is held each May. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura to Ouarzazate, visiting the film studios where many famous movies were shot. We then depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in films like Gladiator and TV series like Game of Thrones. Finally, we journey to Marrakesh, driving through the stunning Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for lunch and photos. Upon arrival in Marrakesh, we will drive you to the airport or your accommodation, marking the end of your 6-day tour.
