Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of Casablanca Your Morocco adventure begins upon arrival. We will pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca, the nation’s largest city and economic centre. Your first visit is to the stunning Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece located on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic. After free time for lunch, we will explore more of the city, including the beautiful Casablanca Cornish, before you check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Casablanca → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes After breakfast, we depart for the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site features beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and grand archways. After exploring the ruins, we continue to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Here, we will visit the monumental Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Our day concludes as we head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.

Day 3: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara We leave Fes after breakfast, driving south towards the desert. Our journey takes us through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture, and into the cedar forests where you can see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. After a lunch break in Midelt, we travel through the impressive Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz Valley. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will switch to a camel for a memorable trek across the sandy dunes, pausing atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you will continue to your camp, a blend of traditional nomadic tents and hotel luxury, where you’ll enjoy Berber music around a campfire under a vast, starry sky.

Day 4: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to watch the sunrise over the desert is a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you will return by camel to Merzouga to meet your driver. We then leave the desert to visit the town of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and still a major regional trading centre. Following a stroll through its souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop. Our drive takes us through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges, where the river has carved a spectacular canyon through the mountains. After free time for lunch, we proceed to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and to take in the panoramic view of the valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley → Roses Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakesh On our final day, our trip continues towards Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, where a vibrant Rose Festival is held each May. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura to reach Ouarzazate, home to famous film studios. The highlight of the day is a visit to the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films like Gladiator and TV shows like Game of Thrones. We then begin our final leg to Marrakesh, driving over the spectacular Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. We will make stops for lunch and photos at interesting spots before arriving in Marrakesh, where we will take you to the airport or your accommodation to conclude your 5-day Morocco tour.
