Tour Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier & Journey to Chefchaouen Your tour begins as we pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Tangier, the “bride of the north.” We’ll start by exploring the city, visiting the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic. After free time for lunch, we drive inland through Tetouan and the scenic Rif Mountains, making stops for panoramic views before arriving in the magical blue city of Chefchaouen for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes After breakfast, feel free to enjoy a final stroll through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen. Our tour then continues to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Afterwards, we drive to the imperial city of Meknes to visit landmarks like Bab Al-Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.
Day 3: Guided Sightseeing Tour of Fes Today is dedicated to exploring the highlights of Fes with an expert local guide. The city is considered one of the imperial cities and the cultural and religious heart of Morocco. Your tour will take you into the well-preserved medieval Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage site), starting from the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). You will visit The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the famous Tanneries, and the Quaraouine Mosque and University—the oldest university in the world. Afterwards, we visit the Jewish quarter (“the Mellah”) and drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of the city.
Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara After breakfast, our journey continues south. We will visit Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before proceeding to the cedar forests where Barbary macaques live. After a lunch break in Midelt, we drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz Valley. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will switch to camels for a trek across the sandy dunes, stopping atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset. You will then continue to a luxury camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars, complete with Berber drums music.
Day 5: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to contemplate the beautiful desert sunrise is a must. After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit the town of Rissani and its traditional market. Our journey continues to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, and then to the Todra Gorges. Feel free to wander through this high, red cliff-sided canyon. After lunch, we proceed to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and to take in the panoramic view of the valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakesh On our final day, we travel through the Roses Valley and the palm groves of Skoura to Ouarzazate, where we visit the famous film studios and Taourirt Kasbah. We then depart to visit the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Telouet Kasbah. Finally, we make the scenic drive to Marrakesh over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, we will drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your 6-day Morocco tour.
