Day 1: Fes → Middle Atlas Mountains → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert & Camel Camp Your Sahara adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. We set off on a scenic drive south, heading towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a charming town known for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate. We’ll then continue to the nearby cedar forests of Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see and interact with the playful Barbary apes in their natural habitat. The journey proceeds through Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas ranges, where we’ll pause for lunch (at your own expense). Afterwards, the landscape begins to transform as we descend towards the Sahara, following the spectacular Ziz Valley with its lush ribbon of palm trees. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your camels await to take you on a memorable trek across the sands. You’ll witness a breathtaking sunset over the dunes before arriving at your traditional Berber desert camp. A delicious Moroccan dinner will be served, followed by an evening of local music around a campfire under a vast, star-filled sky.

Day 2: Merzouga → Return Journey to Fes An early wake-up is highly recommended to experience the serene magic of a Saharan sunrise, as the first light paints the dunes in spectacular colours. After this unforgettable moment, you will enjoy breakfast at the camp. Following breakfast, you’ll camel trek back to Merzouga to meet your driver. We then begin our long but scenic return journey to Fes. We will retrace our steps through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains, with comfort stops along the way for refreshments and to stretch your legs. Your whirlwind desert tour concludes in the early evening as your driver drops you off at your original pick-up point or another location in Fes.
