Tour Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival and Casablanca City Tour Your Moroccan adventure begins with a pick-up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca. We’ll start our tour of Morocco’s largest city with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After free time for lunch, we will explore the city further, including a visit to the beautiful Casablanca Cornish, before checking into your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen (The Blue City) After breakfast, we drive along the coastline to Rabat, the current capital of Morocco. We will visit the city’s highlights, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas. In the afternoon, we head north through Ouazzane to reach the famous “Blue City” of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring the beautiful blue and white alleyways of Chefchaouen. Afterwards, we drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we visit the imperial city of Meknes, the Ismaili capital, where we will see the grand Bab Al-Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Our day concludes as we arrive in the cultural capital of Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.
Day 4: Guided Sightseeing Tour of Fes Today is entirely dedicated to exploring the highlights of Fes with an expert local guide. You will dive into the world’s largest living medieval medina, visit the famous Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the fascinating Tanneries, and the Quaraouine Mosque and University. We will also visit the Jewish quarter (“the Mellah”) and drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view over the entire city.
Day 5: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara After a warm breakfast, we drive south, stopping in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing to the cedar forests to see the wild Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, our journey continues along the spectacular Ziz Valley. In the late afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you will switch to camels for a trek across the sandy dunes, pausing to enjoy a magnificent sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to see the sunrise over the desert is a truly magical experience. After breakfast, you will return by camel to meet your driver. We then leave the desert to visit the traditional market in Rissani and the fossil workshops in Erfoud. Our journey continues to the Todra Gorges, where you can walk through the immense canyon, before proceeding to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and to admire the stunning landscape.
Day 7: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakesh After breakfast, we travel through the Roses Valley and the palm groves of Skoura to Ouarzazate, visiting the famous film studios. The highlight is a visit to the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, we make the scenic drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, arriving in the vibrant city of Marrakesh for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 8: Marrakesh to Casablanca Airport On the final day of your tour, after breakfast, we will drive north from Marrakesh to Casablanca. We will make stops for panoramic views along the way before transferring you to the airport for your departure, bringing your incredible 8-day Morocco tour to an end.
