Tour Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier & Journey to Chefchaouen Your 5-day tour begins as we pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Tangier, the “bride of the north.” We’ll start by exploring this beautiful city, visiting the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. After free time for lunch, we drive inland through the city of Tetouan and the scenic Rif Mountains, making stops for panoramic views before arriving in the magical blue city of Chefchaouen for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes After breakfast, feel free to wander through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen one last time. Our tour then continues to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site with stunning mosaics and architecture. Afterwards, we drive 30 km to the imperial city of Meknes, the former Ismaili capital, where we will visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.
Day 3: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara After breakfast, we drive south towards the desert, passing through Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco.” We continue to the nearby cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques. After a lunch break in Midelt, we travel through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz Valley. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will switch to a camel for a trek across the sandy dunes, stopping atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset. You will then continue to a luxury camp, where you can enjoy Berber drums music around a campfire under a vast, starry sky.
Day 4: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to contemplate the beautiful desert sunrise is a must. After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit the town of Rissani and its traditional market. Our journey continues to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, and then through beautiful palm groves to the Todra Gorges. Feel free to wander through this high, red cliff-sided canyon. After lunch, we proceed to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and to take in the panoramic view of the valley.
Day 5: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakesh On our final day, we travel through the Roses Valley (famous for its May festival) and the palm groves of Skoura. In Ouarzazate, we will visit the renowned film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. We then depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in numerous films. We will also see the Telouet Kasbah before making our final journey to Marrakesh, driving over the spectacular Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Upon arrival, we will drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your 5-day Morocco tour.
