Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of Casablanca Your journey begins as we pick you up from the airport, port, or your hotel in Casablanca. We’ll start by visiting the city’s most iconic landmark, the Hassan II Mosque, a stunning architectural marvel on the Atlantic coast. After free time for lunch, we will explore the vibrant Casablanca Cornish before you settle into your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen (The Blue City) After breakfast, we drive along the coastline to Rabat, the current capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the city’s highlights, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas. In the afternoon, we head north, driving through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach the famous “Blue City” of Chefchaouen, renowned for its charming buildings and alleyways painted in brilliant shades of blue.
Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes Enjoy a morning wandering the beautiful blue alleyways of Chefchaouen at your leisure. Afterwards, we drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful mosaics and ancient pillars. Next, we visit the imperial city of Meknes, where we will see the grand Bab Al-Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Our day concludes as we arrive in the cultural capital of Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Riad.
Day 4: Guided Sightseeing Tour of Fes Today is entirely dedicated to exploring the highlights of Fes with an expert local guide. You will delve into the world’s largest living medieval medina, visit the famous Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the fascinating Tanneries, and the Quaraouine Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world. We will also visit the Jewish quarter (“the Mellah”) and drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view over the entire city.
Day 5: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara We depart Fes after breakfast, driving south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the nearby cedar forests to see the wild Barbary macaques. After a lunch break in Midelt, our journey continues along the spectacular Ziz Valley. In the late afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you will switch to camels for a trek across the sandy dunes, pausing to enjoy a magnificent sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.
Day 6: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Waking up early to see the sunrise over the desert is a truly magical experience. After breakfast, you will return by camel to meet your driver. We then leave the desert, visiting the traditional market in Rissani and the fossil workshops in Erfoud. Our journey continues to the Todra Gorges, where you can walk through the immense, high-cliffed canyon. We then proceed to the Dades Valley, making stops to see the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and to admire the stunning landscape.
Day 7: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakesh On our final day, we travel through the Roses Valley and the palm groves of Skoura to Ouarzazate, visiting the famous film studios. The highlight is a visit to the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in numerous films and TV shows. Finally, we make the scenic drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, arriving in Marrakesh where we will take you to the airport or your accommodation, marking the end of your incredible 7-day Morocco tour.
