Day 1: Marrakesh → High Atlas Mountains → Ait Ben Haddou → Roses Valley → Boumalne Dades
Your adventure begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakesh. We set off on a thrilling drive into the High Atlas Mountains, navigating the winding roads of the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Along the way, we’ll pause at panoramic viewpoints to capture the breathtaking landscapes and scattered Berber villages. Our journey then leads us to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site featured in countless films. After exploring this historic gem and enjoying lunch (at your own expense), we continue our drive towards Boumalne Dades. We’ll pass through Ouarzazate, the “Gate of the Desert,” the verdant palm groves of Skoura, and the fragrant Roses Valley. Your day concludes as we settle in for the night in the beautiful Dades region.
Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Desert & Camel Trek After a delicious breakfast, we depart for the Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon carved by the Todra River, with towering cliffs that reach up to 300 meters. You’ll have time to walk and marvel at this incredible natural wonder. Afterwards, we continue our journey east towards the Sahara, passing through several Berber towns. As we approach Merzouga in the afternoon, the landscape transforms into the awe-inspiring Erg Chebbi sand sea. Here, you will trade your vehicle for a camel and embark on a memorable trek into the golden dunes. We’ll pause at a high dune to witness a magical sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp. A traditional Moroccan dinner will be served, followed by an evening of enchanting Berber drum music around a campfire under a vast, starry sky.
Day 3: Merzouga → Draa Valley → Anti-Atlas Mountains → Marrakesh An early start is essential today to witness the stunning desert sunrise. After this unforgettable moment, you’ll enjoy a warm breakfast at the camp. We then begin our return journey to Marrakesh. Leaving the desert, we’ll travel through Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region, known for its bustling local souk. The route continues through the vast and scenic Draa Valley, a ribbon of green palms flanked by ancient kasbahs and Berber villages. We’ll traverse the impressive Anti-Atlas Mountains before rejoining the main route in Ouarzazate. From there, we cross the High Atlas Mountains once more, arriving back in Marrakesh by the evening, where your incredible 3-day desert adventure concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation.
